We are now looking for a full-time Senior Developer to join Novatron's Machine Control Product Development organization.

The position starts by agreement, with Pirkkala as your primary work location.

In this role the applicant will work for our Machine control product development organization and when internal projects don't require immediate attention the applicant will be working with our Expert Services customers. In any case, most of the work will be related to the software on a work machine or to the software on customers' devices. Work role can be tailored as per personal interests which support both personal growth and company targets. Some development work will be conducted on-site, where our labs and measurement equipment are available. However, the work can be performed both remotely and on-site, depending on the task and agreement.

What will your role entail?

You will work mainly as part of the Machine Control Product development organization which is responsible for developing the software for these products in its entirety. Software is developed at many levels, including development such areas: firmware, bus technologies, data transfer protocols, positioning technologies, control algorithms, application logics, infrastructure model processing, user interfaces, and 3D-accelerated graphics. Your responsibilities will also include software development for our Expert Services customers mainly related to the same subject areas.

We have extensive knowledge on the kinematics chain and the best knowledge of positioning for the machine control systems. Our customers are happiest users of Machine Control systems. We are proud of our products and our work.

Generally we are looking a person whom has good C++ application development skills and enjoys developing applications for embedded systems. Prior knowledge on the machine control systems is a big plus. You shine when you have a chance to help your stakeholder or our customers. You will be collaborating with our own and customer's developers and other product development teams, so strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are needed.

What do we expect from you?

• 8+ years of work experience
• Proficiency in C++ / C
• Proven experience in working with and debugging various communication protocols (such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C) using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure robust and efficient data exchange.
• Software development skills for Linux environments
• Basic knowledge of CI systems like Jenkins
• Ability to mentor colleagues in your areas of expertise
• Initiative and self-driven attitude
• Proficiency in Git version control
• Language skills: Finnish, English

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence environments
• Knowledge of RobotFramework
• Experience with Yocto tools
• Python programming skills
• Linux driver development skills
